Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in food preparation or culinary settings preferred
  • basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • capability to stand for extended periods
  • good manual dexterity for handling kitchen tools
  • strong communication skills for teamwork and following directions
  • availability to work part-time hours and flexible shifts

Job Qualifications

  • Experience working in dietary department
  • proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments demonstrating strong culinary skills
  • familiarity with food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
  • ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
  • excellent knife skills for precise cutting and slicing tasks
  • knowledge of menu planning principles and food industry best practices
  • strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately in a busy kitchen setting

Job Duties

  • Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and food handling techniques
  • support cooking activities, following established recipes and menu plans to ensure quality and consistency
  • help with meal assembly and plating for service, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
  • maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation procedures, proper storage, and hygiene practices
  • contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
  • support catering events or special meal services by preparing large quantities of food efficiently
  • ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly for optimal operation
