Job Qualifications
- Experience working in dietary department
- proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant environments demonstrating strong culinary skills
- familiarity with food safety protocols, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- ability to perform meal preparation efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
- excellent knife skills for precise cutting and slicing tasks
- knowledge of menu planning principles and food industry best practices
- strong teamwork skills with the ability to follow directions accurately in a busy kitchen setting
Job Duties
- Assist with food preparation by chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and food handling techniques
- support cooking activities, following established recipes and menu plans to ensure quality and consistency
- help with meal assembly and plating for service, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- maintain food safety standards by adhering to sanitation procedures, proper storage, and hygiene practices
- contribute to menu planning discussions by providing input based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- support catering events or special meal services by preparing large quantities of food efficiently
- ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained properly for optimal operation
