Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to stand and be on feet for extended periods
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, and walking
- Willingness to follow facility uniform policy
- Ability to work scheduled shifts of 2:30 AM to 11:00 AM or 1:30 PM to 10:00 PM
- Compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Ability to supervise inmate labor and team members
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior institutional food service or restaurant experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling regulations
- Ability to supervise and train others
- Excellent multitasking and adaptability skills
- Dependable and flexible work attitude
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and team members during food preparation and service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and team members in food preparation according to menus and recipes
- Ensure proper and sanitary food storage
- Serve food during scheduled meal times following department policies
- Utilize kitchen equipment and utensils for cooking and serving food
- Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment including refrigerators, cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to facility uniform policies
- Manage garbage collection and maintain kitchen floor cleanliness
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for long periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
