Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Able to stand and be on feet for much of the scheduled shift
- Ability to perform physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Willingness to work weekends
- Prior institutional food service experience preferred
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Supervise inmate labor and/or team members in the kitchen during food preparation and food service shifts
- Prepare, assist, or instruct inmate labor and/or team members in the preparation of quality foods according to planned menus, recipes, and work instructions
- Ensure all food is stored properly and in a sanitary manner
- Serve food during planned meal schedules according to department policies and procedures
- Use kitchen utensils and equipment to cook, prepare, and serve food according to recipes and client nutritional needs
- Follow all food safety regulations relating to sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Train other food service workers
- Maintain a clean work environment including cleaning refrigerators, freezers, cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to facility uniform policy
- Manage garbage collection and keep kitchen floors clean
- Promote a healthy and safe work environment for employees and inmates
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, kneeling, walking, and standing for extended periods
- Perform other related duties as assigned
