Job Requirements

  • 1-2 years experience in a professional restaurant kitchen preferred
  • Personable and enjoys working with diverse teams
  • Availability to work weekends, day shifts and evening shifts
  • Possess or able to obtain valid Food Handlers Certification within 30 days
  • Ability to remain stationary for long periods
  • Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to frequently bend and reach overhead
  • Ability to handle kitchen utensils and grip equipment
  • Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures from hot (around 82°F) to cold (around 37°F)
  • Ability to work near open flames, hot cooking equipment and steam
  • Ability to perform repetitive motion activities
  • Ability to work in tight spaces
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate directions and spatial cues
  • Ability to sit, squat and kneel occasionally
  • Ability to regularly move around restaurant carrying items
  • Ability to work with alertness and safety at all times

Job Duties

  • Comply with sanitation standards, portion sizes, recipes, builds, cooking and cooling methods, packaging, and kitchen policies
  • Assist with receiving and storage of incoming orders ensuring proper temperature control
  • Be knowledgeable of all kitchen stations including prep, line, grill, dish, and tortilla
  • Take initiative and work efficiently to complete job duties, prep lists, cleaning tasks, and checklists
  • Communicate any equipment, product, quality or safety concerns to leadership
  • Maintain food safety by regulating ovens, fryers, and kitchen equipment, completing line checks
  • Ensure product quality via proper tasting, rotation, storage (FIFO), and labeling
  • Carry product, equipment, and utensils to and from storage and work areas
  • Understand and follow orders on the Kitchen Display System (KDS)
  • Clean and sanitize work stations, kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, walls, and floors
  • Load and organize dishwashing machines and kitchen utensils
  • Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
  • Sweep and mop restaurant spaces including restrooms
  • Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shifts, training, and meetings
