Job Requirements
- Availability to work weekends, day shifts and evening shifts
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for six or more hours per shift
- Ability to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to frequently bend and reach overhead
- Ability to work in fluctuating temperatures from hot to cold
- Ability to work near open flames, hot equipment and steam
- Ability to perform repetitive motions such as food scooping and flipping tortillas
- Ability to work in tight spaces such as dish stations
- Ability to recognize and communicate directions and spatial cues
- Ability to sit, squat and kneel occasionally
- Ability to regularly move around the restaurant carrying items
- Must work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
Job Qualifications
- One to two years experience in a professional restaurant kitchen preferred
- Personable and enjoys working with diverse teams
- Valid Food Handlers Certification Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- Knowledge of kitchen sanitation standards
- Ability to follow recipes and portion control guidelines
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and safety protocols
- Ability to manage time and tasks efficiently
- Problem-solving skills for managing kitchen operations
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality
Job Duties
- Reinforce guest trust by complying with sanitation standards, portion sizes, recipes, builds, cooking and cooling methods, packaging, kitchen policies
- Assist with receiving and storage of incoming orders ensuring proper temperature control
- Be knowledgeable of all kitchen stations including prep, line, grill, dish, and tortilla
- Take initiative to complete job duties, prep lists, cleaning tasks and checklists with urgency and enthusiasm
- Report equipment, product, quality or safety concerns to leadership
- Rebound from setbacks calmly and troubleshoot issues to ensure efficient operations
- Build partnerships and work collaboratively to meet shared objectives
- Ensure food is stored and cooked at correct temperatures by regulating kitchen equipment and completing line checks
- Conduct proper tasting, rotation, storage and labeling of products to ensure quality
- Maintain sufficient levels of products at line stations
- Understand orders on the KDS screen
- Clean and sanitize work stations and kitchen equipment
- Load utensils and kitchen tools into dishwashers and keep dish area organized
- Remove trash and clean kitchen garbage containers
- Sweep, mop and clean restaurant spaces including restrooms
- Maintain regular, predictable attendance including scheduled shifts, training and meetings
