Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-4 years of progressive work experience in food services or equivalent knowledge at a Food Services Assistant level
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items including up and down stairs
- Ability to tolerate cold temperatures in walk-in freezers
- Capability to stand for the duration of a full shift
- Physical ability to operate industrial-size kitchen equipment
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to pass a comprehensive background check including fingerprinting
- Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol testing if required
- Ability to perform general walking, twisting, bending, kneeling, and lifting in a large kitchen setting
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of cooking large quantities of food using recipes and safety protocols
- Ability to work in various sections of a large kitchen including bakery and hot food line
- Knowledge of supply stocking and expiration date monitoring
- Skills in effective communication and teamwork
- Ability to work respectfully around residents and staff including high-energy situations
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy kitchen environment
- 2-4 years of progressive experience in food services or equivalent
- Associate's Degree in Culinary Arts or related field is preferred
- Valid driver’s license for food delivery truck operation
Job Duties
- Follow recipes to prepare hot and cold meals for large groups
- Prepare special meals for residents with specific health needs or diet orders
- Drive a food delivery truck to deliver meals across the campus
- Ensure all food is stored and served safely with attention to expiration dates
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen including washing pots, pans, and equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members and answer phones to facilitate kitchen operations
