Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen management or supervisory role
  • Proven experience in food preparation cooking techniques and menu planning
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a hot and humid environment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Requires frequent bending stooping and reaching

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary degree or certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen management or supervisory role
  • Proven experience in food preparation cooking techniques and menu planning
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations food safety regulations and sanitation standards
  • Excellent supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train staff
  • Proficient in inventory management cost control and ordering procedures
  • Solid understanding of HACCP principles and implementation
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certified Food Safety Manager or equivalent certification preferred
  • Experience with menu engineering and recipe costing preferred
  • Familiarity with Marriott brand standards and procedures preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of kitchen staff including cooks chefs and kitchen assistants
  • Ensures consistent food quality and presentation adhering to established recipes and standards
  • Monitors food preparation methods portion sizes and garnishing to maintain cost control and minimize waste
  • Conducts regular kitchen inspections to ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards
  • Manages inventory levels orders supplies and verifies deliveries to maintain adequate stock levels
  • Trains and mentors kitchen staff on proper food handling techniques equipment operation and safety procedures
  • Assists in menu planning and development contributing ideas for new dishes and seasonal specials
