Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • college or culinary degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of progressive kitchen supervisory experience
  • Serve Safe or equivalent certification or ability to obtain
  • ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly
  • ability to work extended and physically demanding hours
  • detail oriented
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to problem-solve
  • ability to manage multiple priorities

Job Qualifications

  • Serve Safe or approved equivalent certification, or ability to obtain certification
  • 2 or more years of progressive kitchen supervisory experience

  • preferred experience as kitchen supervisor in a restaurant or hotel of similar size and reputation

Job Duties

  • supervise kitchen staff to ensure highest level of food quality and production to standards
  • conduct daily line checks and ongoing audits for consistency and quality, following up as needed
  • recognize opportunities for improvement and implement necessary changes
  • develop standard operating procedures to maximize quality
  • ensure food preparation and delivery standards are met for banquet events and all service outlets
  • ensure outstanding presentation using records and photographs, monitoring plate setups to meet standards
  • train team on menu changes and collaborate with manager to develop new menu items
  • work with manager to monitor kitchen expenses and maximize profitability
  • manage labor effectively through scheduling and adjustments
  • follow procurement guidelines while controlling food cost and maximizing revenue
  • maintain company assets within budget guidelines
  • ensure guest satisfaction by meeting food and beverage standards and addressing concerns promptly
  • train and model operational standards including ticket times and food quality
  • maintain training records and analyze quality issues to implement improvements
  • adhere to training policies and meet all company and brand-specific training requirements
  • lead by example in food safety and storage
  • conduct routine inspections to maintain quality standards and compliance
  • ensure clean and safe work environment, following procedures for incidents
  • handle interviewing, hiring, and developing associates
  • evaluate and coach staff performance
  • motivate team through goals, feedback, and recognition
  • support discipline and termination decisions with manager
  • manage workload effectively
  • demonstrate clear written and verbal communication
  • promote collaboration and a professional work environment
  • attend all required meetings for proper communication and planning
  • adhere to all standard operating procedures
