Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum experience in culinary preparation and kitchen supervision
- ability to work flexible hours including events schedules
- strong leadership and organizational skills
- excellent attendance record
- ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- physical capability to perform kitchen duties
- valid food handling certification if required
Job Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or experience in a fast-paced fine dining or catering facility
- prior supervisory kitchen experience
- ability to supervise kitchen staff
- proficiency with kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
- clear, business-like and respectful communication skills
- English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
- ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced event environment
- valid food handling certificate if required
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff work
- teach proper culinary preparation skills and food presentation
- assist in controlling food and labor costs
- conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections
- assist with monthly inventory
- ensure high quality and timely food delivery
- prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes
- participate as a team player with responsibility for preparation and service delivery
- report required kitchen equipment maintenance
- maintain sanitation, health and safety standards
- observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- portion, arrange and garnish food plates
- consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menus and food consumption planning
- demonstrate excellent attendance
