Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum experience in culinary preparation and kitchen supervision
  • ability to work flexible hours including events schedules
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • excellent attendance record
  • ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
  • physical capability to perform kitchen duties
  • valid food handling certification if required

Job Qualifications

  • Professional culinary training or experience in a fast-paced fine dining or catering facility
  • prior supervisory kitchen experience
  • ability to supervise kitchen staff
  • proficiency with kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • clear, business-like and respectful communication skills
  • English proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing
  • ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced event environment
  • valid food handling certificate if required

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise kitchen staff work
  • teach proper culinary preparation skills and food presentation
  • assist in controlling food and labor costs
  • conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • ensure high quality and timely food delivery
  • prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes
  • participate as a team player with responsibility for preparation and service delivery
  • report required kitchen equipment maintenance
  • maintain sanitation, health and safety standards
  • observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
  • portion, arrange and garnish food plates
  • consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menus and food consumption planning
  • demonstrate excellent attendance
