Job Requirements
- Culinary education or relevant professional experience
- Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Valid food handling certificate
- Demonstrated excellent attendance and reliability
Job Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or equivalent experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen setting
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff effectively
- Proficient in operating standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Strong communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- Proficient in English language (speak, read, write)
- Ability to work well within a team-oriented, event-driven environment
- Possession of a valid food handling certificate
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
- Teach culinary preparation skills and proper food presentation to staff
- Assist in controlling food and labor costs
- Conduct inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards
- Participate in monthly inventory
- Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner
- Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- Collaborate with team to ensure excellent service and product delivery
- Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery
- Consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menu planning and food consumption estimates
- Maintain excellent attendance
