Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous experience in culinary preparation
- supervisory experience preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and event days
- strong leadership and organizational skills
- ability to maintain sanitation and safety standards
- physical ability to stand for long periods and lift moderate weights
- valid food handler certification if applicable
- reliable transportation
- ability to communicate clearly and professionally in English
Job Qualifications
- Professional training through culinary education or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- previous supervisory experience in a kitchen
- ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
- proficiency in operating standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- strong communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- ability to read, write, and speak English
- ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented, event-driven environment
- valid food handling certificate if required by regulations
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
- display knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teach proper preparation and food presentation
- assist in controlling food and labor costs
- conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards
- assist with monthly inventory
- provide high-quality, fresh food products in a timely manner
- prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
- participate as a team player with specific responsibilities related to preparation, service, and delivery
- report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
- observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery to guests
- consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef to plan menus and estimate food consumption
- maintain excellent attendance
