Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen environment
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid food handling certification if required by law

Job Qualifications

  • Professional training through a culinary education or fast-paced fine dining restaurant/catering experience recommended
  • Previous experience working in a supervisory capacity in a kitchen
  • Ability to supervise kitchen staff
  • Able to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests
  • Ability to speak, read and write in English
  • Ability to plan and multi-task to execute production needs calmly
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • Possess valid food handling certificate if required by state and federal regulations

Job Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
  • Display knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teach others proper preparation and food presentation
  • Assist in the control of food and labor costs
  • Conduct regular inspections of all locations to assure cleanliness and maintenance meet company standards
  • Assist with monthly inventory and ordering
  • Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner for delivery to guests
  • Prepare hot and cold foods following company recipes and portioning requirements
