Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience working in culinary or kitchen environment
- supervisory experience preferred
- ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
- strong communication skills
- ability to work flexible hours including events
- valid food handling certification if required
- excellent attendance and punctuality
Job Qualifications
- professional culinary training or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- previous supervisory experience in kitchen
- ability to supervise kitchen staff
- ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
- strong communication skills with employees, management and guests
- ability to read, write and speak English
- teamwork skills in fast-paced, event-driven environment
- valid food handling certificate if required
Job Duties
- coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
- teach proper preparation and food presentation techniques
- assist in controlling food and labor costs
- conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections
- assist with monthly inventory
- provide high quality, fresh food products for timely guest delivery
- prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portion requirements
- participate as a team player in food preparation, service and delivery
- report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- maintain sanitation, health and safety standards
- observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- portion, arrange and garnish food plates
- consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menu planning and food consumption estimates
- maintain excellent attendance
