Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • experience working in culinary or kitchen environment
  • supervisory experience preferred
  • ability to handle kitchen equipment safely
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including events
  • valid food handling certification if required
  • excellent attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • professional culinary training or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
  • previous supervisory experience in kitchen
  • ability to supervise kitchen staff
  • ability to operate standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer and chef knife
  • strong communication skills with employees, management and guests
  • ability to read, write and speak English
  • teamwork skills in fast-paced, event-driven environment
  • valid food handling certificate if required

Job Duties

  • coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
  • teach proper preparation and food presentation techniques
  • assist in controlling food and labor costs
  • conduct regular cleanliness and maintenance inspections
  • assist with monthly inventory
  • provide high quality, fresh food products for timely guest delivery
  • prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portion requirements
  • participate as a team player in food preparation, service and delivery
  • report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
  • maintain sanitation, health and safety standards
  • observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
  • portion, arrange and garnish food plates
  • consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef on menu planning and food consumption estimates
  • maintain excellent attendance
