Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional culinary training or equivalent work experience
- Experience supervising kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate standard kitchen equipment
- Valid food handling certificate if required
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including events
- Commitment to excellent attendance
Job Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or experience in fast-paced fine dining or catering
- Previous supervisory experience in a kitchen
- Ability to supervise kitchen staff
- Proficient with standard kitchen equipment including broiler, steamer, convection oven, mixer, meat slicer, and chef knife
- Effective communication skills with employees, management, and guests
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
- Possession of valid food handling certificate if required by law
Job Duties
- Coordinate and supervise the work of kitchen staff
- Display knowledge of culinary preparation skills and teach others proper preparation and food presentation
- Assist in the control of food and labor costs
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards
- Assist with monthly inventory
- Provide high quality, fresh food products in a timely manner
- Prepare hot and cold foods following recipes and portioning requirements
- Participate as a team player in preparation, service, and delivery
- Report maintenance needs for kitchen equipment
- Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards
- Observe and test foods to ensure proper cooking
- Portion, arrange, and garnish food plates for delivery
- Consult with Executive Chef and Sous Chef for menu planning and food consumption estimation
- Demonstrate excellent attendance
