Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Three to five years of restaurant supervisory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions
  • High-quality verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledgeable on restaurant procedures and practices
  • Proficient in computer applications

Job Duties

  • Ensure all dining services operations comply with health and food regulations
  • Ensure dining services employees follow dress codes, policies, and procedures daily
  • Inspect kitchen area with Executive Chef or Sous Chef before meals for cleanliness, order, and safety
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to oversee dining operations and ensure satisfaction
  • Assist with cleaning assignments, china handling, and setup per policy
  • Complete all dining employee duties before shift end
  • Assist with inventory, ordering, auditing, and disciplinary processes
  • Collaborate with cooks on daily menu changes and update POS system
  • Conduct daily staff line-ups to assign and guide work
  • Oversee weekly kitchen and dining area cleanup and maintain equipment
  • Conduct new hire and ongoing training for utility and cooking staff
  • Assist with orientation using various educational materials
  • Follow up with new hires after 10 days and assign work buddies if needed
  • Train staff on cleaning skills and record training progress
  • Coach staff on service performance and initiate write-ups as necessary
  • Set up and break down all catering events in compliance with policies
  • Execute Banquet Event Order set ups and supervise events for customer satisfaction
  • Ensure thorough clean-up after catering events
  • Lead assigned staff ensuring productivity, efficiency, and accuracy
  • Provide initial and ongoing training and cross-training for servers
  • Identify and address unacceptable performance and behavior using discipline policy
  • Assist in interviewing and hiring new utility and cooking staff
  • Update job descriptions and dining procedures as needed
  • Ensure kitchen closure complies with safety and chef standards
  • Maintain professional presence and adhere to confidentiality policies
  • Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior with all stakeholders
  • Maintain positive working relationships and follow directions
  • Exhibit professional appearance and demeanor
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of work assignments and policies
  • Use tactful and diplomatic communication techniques
