Job Requirements

  • Culinary related college or trade school education preferred
  • Minimum three years experience in a hands-on kitchen management position
  • Experience in high volume restaurant business
  • Good knowledge of restaurant industry

Job Duties

  • Understand the needs of the shift and deploy resources
  • Communicate the plan to staff departments to deliver products and services timely
  • Use Job Skill Handbooks to coach and train associates
  • Set daily expectations using approved tools and checklists
  • Motivate associates to create teamwork and excellent service environment
  • Monitor daily time and attendance to meet labor budgets and adjust for call offs
  • Follow Service Recovery guidelines to resolve guest concerns and escalate when necessary
  • Champion the service culture focusing on guest satisfaction
  • Perform constant inspections for cleanliness, environment, and guest experience
  • Manage safety and security procedures to prevent accidents
  • Ensure compliance with all training requirements including certifications
  • Assist chef in assigning and supervising all phases of food production
  • Maintain food quality according to company recipes and procedures
  • Direct and participate with kitchen staff to ensure promptness and consistency
  • Maintain all kitchen equipment in optimum working order
  • Enforce safe work practices and report unsafe conditions
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all kitchen areas
  • Aid in cross-training and development of food production associates
  • Spot-check food and service for portion and quality standards
  • Check Daily Production Sheets for proper use
  • Supervise good housekeeping practices in food areas
  • Train kitchen employees on plate presentation and quality standards
  • Accomplish daily duties to quality standards

  • Maintain knowledge of proper cooling and storage techniques
  • Provide guest services exceeding expectations
  • Report unsafe work conditions and violations
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • Inspect equipment for cleanliness and operation
  • Manage time and productivity per business volume
  • Set up and produce quality products adhering to health and company standards
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Perform additional duties to maintain positive morale and teamwork
