Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • minimum of 3 years related experience
  • ability to work Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM
  • strong organizational and leadership skills
  • familiarity with Child and Adult Care Food Program guidelines
  • capability to maintain kitchen budget and purchase supplies
  • ability to ensure compliance with food program regulations
  • effective communication skills
  • capability to train and supervise kitchen staff

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • 3 plus years of related experience
  • senior-level support role experience
  • ability to complete assignments with little supervision
  • experience training less-experienced team members

Job Duties

  • Plan menus and follow the Child and Adult Care Food Program components and guidelines
  • oversee all student laboratory activity related to food services
  • serve as a resource for HCDC employees and families
  • maintain the kitchen budget as outlined and purchase supplies and materials when needed
  • follow all center, state, national accreditation, and federal food program regulations
  • provide feedback to the Assistant Program Director regarding comments or concerns about the performance of kitchen staff members
  • train and prepare Kitchen Aides with daily responsibilities, guidelines, and processes to ensure smooth service delivery in the absence of the Kitchen Supervisor
  • ensure staff weekly meetings and student evaluations are completed on time
  • ensure food preparation and production are completed in a safe and sanitary manner
  • incorporate produce from the Children’s Garden in meal planning when possible
  • provide nutritional education to children and families
  • prepare and organize Child and Adult Care Food Program audit materials as needed for random visits, as well as on an annual basis
  • other duties as assigned
