Job Requirements

  • Must be able to endure exposure to heat, steam and hazardous cleaning chemicals
  • Must be able to stand for length of shift
  • Must be able to walk, run, push, pull and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Previous experience working in food and beverage department such as kitchen, cafeteria
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
  • 2 years minimum work related experience required
  • Must have active ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • Must have intermediate oral communication skills in English

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in food and beverage department such as kitchen or cafeteria
  • Knowledge of cooking fundamentals including sauces, soups, salads and cooking techniques
  • Ability to train and develop associates
  • ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • Intermediate oral communication in English
  • Culinary related education preferred but not required
  • Demonstrate personal ownership of tasks and consistent follow-through
  • Maintain health department standards for cleanliness

Job Duties

  • Responsible for all cafeteria attendants and associates under supervision
  • Utilize a hands-on approach to training and developing kitchen associates
  • Instill and maintain required standards of sanitation and cleanliness
  • Keep refrigeration, service equipment, storage and work areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of cafeteria
  • Supervise and prepare all food items according to hotel standards of quality, freshness, and balanced nutrition
  • Set up and maintain service stations and supplies
  • Post daily menu
  • Ensure quality, portion control, and presentation consistency
  • Prep, stock and rotate line products
  • Visually inspect and select all food served
  • Write and submit weekly schedules for hourly associates
  • Maintain proper hot and cold food temperatures
  • Assist banquet chef in requisitioning and ordering food
  • Ensure daily menus are fresh, healthy, and served properly throughout service period
