Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in restaurant or food management required
  • bachelor’s degree preferred or five-year experience in restaurant or food management
  • experience with institutional-size food preparation equipment
  • experience with inventory control
  • knowledge of Department of Health regulations and food safety standards
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook
  • excellent communication skills
  • leadership experience
  • team-building abilities
  • strong decision-making skills
  • organizational skills
  • valid New York State Driver’s License
  • ability to maintain confidentiality

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff and volunteers in preparing kitchen and dining areas
  • assist with meal preparation according to standard recipes and dietary requirements
  • coordinate service line to ensure smooth meal service
  • oversee cleanup and maintenance of kitchen and dining facilities
  • provide training, coaching, and direction to Kitchen Assistants and volunteers
  • maintain communication with Director of Food Services, Production Cook, and Food School Supervisor
  • ensure compliance with food safety protocols and Department of Health regulations
