Job Requirements
- Minimum five years culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen
- At least one year kitchen supervisory experience
- Proven culinary skills
- Ability to lead and motivate staff
- Familiarity with high-volume batch and quantity cooking
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong organizational capabilities
- Basic math skills
- Ability to follow recipes precisely
- Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision
- Ability to create and manage daily prep lists and par sheets
- Capable of working under pressure
- Culinary degree or formal training preferred
- Food handlers certification
- Ability to maintain kitchen safety and sanitation standards
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills
Job Qualifications
- At least five years of culinary experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen with a minimum of one year in a supervisory role
- Proven culinary skills with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate staff
- Experience working well with others and training staff to produce high volumes of quality work
- Familiarity with batch and quantity cooking in a high-volume restaurant
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational abilities
- Basic mathematical skills and adherence to recipes
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Ability to write and perform daily prep lists and par sheets
- Competence in working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Culinary degree or formal training preferred
- Food handlers certification required
Job Duties
- Supervise daily food preparation for assigned areas
- Utilize a hands-on approach to training and developing kitchen staff
- Instill safety and sanitation habits in all employees
- Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure consistency
- Visually inspect and select only food items of the highest quality for menu preparation
- Maintain the cleanliness and working condition of refrigeration and equipment to comply with health regulations
- Teach associates the importance of consistency in food preparation, portion control, and plate presentation
- Train employees on effectively interacting with internal and external guests and resolving requests courteously
- Prep, stock, and rotate line items to ensure ample supply of products
- Fire all food for service and serve on line
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures
- Follow storage procedures strictly when removing and returning food to walk-in storage
- Collaborate closely with wait staff to exceed guest expectations
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
