Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 5-6 years experience in upscale restaurant or hotel kitchen environments
- Ability to communicate clearly in the workplace language
- Ability to follow detailed safety and operational procedures
- Willingness to work harmoniously with team members
- Adherence to company loss prevention policies
- Availability to attend all required training sessions
- Compliance with local health and safety regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree
- 5-6 years related experience at high level restaurants and/or hotels
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
- Must adhere to all hotel/company loss prevention guidelines
- Able to adapt to changes in workload and work environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety
Job Duties
- Deliver superior internal and external hospitality by ensuring every interaction includes outgoing and proactive guest service
- Work harmoniously with fellow associates
- Ensure the quality of the food items and notify manager if a product does not meet specifications
- Ensure production of food in a timely manner
- Prepare food so that quality, taste and appearance of food is in accordance with Resort standards
- Control proper usage and rotation of food
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in walk-in coolers and food storage areas
- Maintain a neat, clean and sanitary workstation and ensure overall kitchen cleanliness
- Ensure prep is completed in a timely manner for the next shift
- Assist other departments as requested
- Carry out duties as deemed necessary by Executive Chef or Sous Chef
- Make sound judgment calls and decisions based on culinary management principles
- Operate within established guidelines, policies and standards
- Perform other job duties as assigned
- Adhere to all property and department standards including safety guidelines
- Attend all property and departmental trainings and meetings
- Wash, slice, peel and butcher various foods to prepare for cooking or serving
- Observe and test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
- Ensure work procedures, quality standards and menu specifications are adhered to
- Engage members and guests in an open kitchen by explaining products and building positive relationships
- Coordinate and communicate orders with dining room team
- Complete opening, closing and other side duties
- Maintain constant communication with Lead Cook and Sous Chefs
- Pass training tests to retain required knowledge
- Maintain well-groomed, neat and clean appearance per health code standards
