Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of post high school education preferably at a culinary institution
  • Three to four years of employment in a related position
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of food profession principles and management
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and related functions
  • Ability to work under time constraints and deadlines
  • Effective communication skills for diverse audiences

Job Qualifications

  • Three to four years of employment in a related position
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of principles and practices within the food profession including management of people and food and beverage operations
  • Knowledge of hotel operations such as marketing, security, safety, personnel and labor relations, business plans, repairs, maintenance, budget forecasting, quality assurance, hospitality law, and long-range planning
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills adaptable to various audiences

Job Duties

  • Supervise the production, preparation, and presentation of all foods for the hotel as assigned by the Executive Chef to ensure quality and consistency
  • Supervise human resources in the kitchen including interviewing, scheduling, training, coaching, and performance evaluations
  • Monitor and control kitchen maintenance and sanitation to meet and exceed health and safety standards
  • Manage labor and food costs through scheduling and supervision to meet budgetary goals
  • Assist in menu creation and planning to attract new customers and ensure guest satisfaction
  • Comply with attendance rules and maintain regular availability
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
