Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • hold a current Food Handler Card
  • one to two years experience in a supervisory role in a kitchen environment preferred
  • ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays
  • ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
  • manual dexterity to use kitchen equipment
  • ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs
  • ability to work in extreme temperature ranges
  • must maintain a neat and professional appearance
  • compliant with health and safety standards
  • willingness to assist team members as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a current Food Handler Card
  • one to two years preferred in a supervisory kitchen role
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations
  • understanding of service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • good working knowledge of broiler cooking
  • good working knowledge of sauté cooking
  • knowledge of sanitation standards
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles
  • basic mathematical skills for recipes and measurements
  • basic English language skills for communication
  • ability to apply written product labeling instructions
  • ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Supervise the cooks and cold pantry's food production
  • check all items against the recipe cards
  • verify that use records are followed for all items served
  • ensure food is presented efficiently and with quality
  • monitor the line set up prior to all meal functions to ensure maximum efficiency
  • monitor equipment maintenance and enforce kitchen cleanliness
  • assist in cross-training employees and training new employees on the service line
  • assist the Sous Chef in maintaining quality and appearance standards
  • prepare daily production lists
  • apply math skills to follow recipes accurately
  • prepare all broiled and sautéed foods as specified
  • visually inspect and select food items of the highest standard
  • check and control proper product storage and portion control
  • maintain refrigeration and kitchen equipment cleanliness and condition
  • maintain all logs including cooling and heating temperatures
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security procedures
  • report unsafe conditions and incidents
  • provide a safe work environment
  • maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance
  • perform related duties as requested by management
  • assist other kitchen personnel when needed
