Job Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods up to 6-8 hours
- Lift and carry up to 20 lbs such as menus and chairs
- Ability to reach, bend, and stoop occasionally
- Willingness to work 50-55 hours per week including evenings and weekends
- Prior experience in a supervisory kitchen role
- Valid food safety certification preferred
- Ability to follow health and safety guidelines strictly
Job Qualifications
- Proven culinary experience in a supervisory role within a restaurant or similar establishment
- Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor kitchen staff to achieve high performance and maintain a positive work environment
- Strong organizational skills to handle a fast-paced kitchen
- Keen eye for quality, presentation, and portion control
- Clear verbal communication skills and ability to interact with guests in a busy environment
- Ability to remain calm and composed while multitasking in a fast-paced setting
- Basic computer skills including operating reservation systems and phones
Job Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure dishes meet quality standards
- Lead and mentor kitchen staff providing guidance and support to maintain a cohesive and efficient team
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control and address issues promptly
- Assist in managing inventory levels, ordering supplies, and controlling food costs
- Ensure kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to health and safety regulations
- Maintain workflow efficiency during high volume periods
- Support the implementation of new recipes and techniques as directed by culinary leadership
