Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years experience in culinary
  • Basic Food Safety certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability to train and mentor staff
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Three years experience in culinary
  • Experience as a departmental trainer or supervisor preferred
  • Culinary internship, apprenticeship or degree preferred
  • Good computer skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint and Word desirable
  • Excellent knife skills
  • Master of garde manger basics
  • Basic Food Safety certification required within 30 days of starting position

Job Duties

  • Monitor and assist in the completion of all opening and closing tasks
  • Check all stations regularly throughout meal periods and provide support as needed
  • Conduct spot checks on food product consistency and quality
  • Monitor production and quality levels of all food products
  • Train, coach, counsel, develop and mentor culinary staff
  • Mentor entry-level cooks to develop skills for advancement
  • Work with peer trainers to update training checklists and assist with onboarding
  • Oversee incoming food product quality
  • Supervise and participate in banquet and restaurant operations
