Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a kitchen supervisory or similar role
  • Manager level Serve Safe Certification
  • Allergen certification
  • Ability to work varied hours including weekends and holidays
  • Ability to stand for approximately 90% of the workday
  • Ability to lift and handle up to 55 pounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment and tools
  • Willingness to comply with food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Ability to participate in conflict resolution
  • Ability to work in warm kitchen environments
  • Physical ability to move, bend, stoop and climb as needed

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to prepare menu items per Malnati quality and ingredient standards
  • Demonstrated leadership ability to lead people and achieve results through others
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to mentor candidates for kitchen supervising positions
  • Ability to coordinate and supervise kitchen training
  • Proficient in operating kitchen equipment and utilizing tools necessary for job duties
  • Skilled in making and flipping pizzas and working pizza ovens, steam and pantry
  • Ability to correct pizza mistakes according to Malnati’s standards
  • Ability to train all kitchen positions per Malnati’s quality standards
  • Flexibility to work varied hours/days including holidays and weekends
  • Willingness to work extra days and hours when required
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe, positive, team-oriented work environment

Job Duties

  • Oversee all food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Share complete responsibility with management team for all food quality
  • Supervise, coordinate and participate in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel
  • Engage in preparing and cooking food in the restaurant
  • Provide input on estimates of food consumption and ordering
  • Maintain established level and quality of sanitation and cleanliness
  • Comply with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training and developing kitchen personnel and with employee discipline and termination
  • Train and cross-train kitchen team members as assigned
  • Support execution throughout the shift
  • Assist in catering and special events
  • Report maintenance, repair and safety concerns to management
  • Participate in kitchen inspections and assist in developing plans of action to solve and prevent recurring violations
  • Attend staff meetings as deemed by store managers
  • Perform any other responsibilities as assigned
