Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- associates degree or relevant culinary experience
- current Food Handler Permit obtained within 15 days of start date
- possession or ability to obtain Missouri Class E Driver’s License within 90 days
- ability to work irregular hours
- ability to communicate in simple sentences
- physical ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform frequent bending, crouching, and walking
- willingness to work in a kitchen and restaurant environment exposed to heat, cold, and sharp objects
- ability to follow safety and operational procedures
- successful completion of background and health screening
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Culinary Arts or related field
- equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree
- current Food Handler Permit obtained within 15 days of start date
- Missouri Class E Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 90 days
- ability to work with a large group of residents/customers
- intermediate knowledge of cash handling and cash register operation
- awareness of cost control in the department
- basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- ability to work irregular hours
- effective communication skills
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals
- ability to write reports and correspondence
- basic arithmetic skills
- ability to perform tasting and smelling
- ability to follow detailed instructions

Job Duties
- Plan and direct the function of the food production department
- ensure quality of food served meets John Knox Village and state regulations
- schedule staff and supervise the work of others
- adhere to all safety regulations and requirements
- handle stress well and maintain positive relationships with coworkers and customers
- maintain acceptable standards of workplace conduct
- support the Village's mission and hospitality expectations
