Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of previous experience in a back-of-the-house food-service position preferred
  • High school education desired
  • Participation or enrollment in a culinary program preferred
  • Familiarity and experience with knife handling preferred

Job Duties

  • Aid in the supervision and observation of performance for the dishwashers and porters under the direction of the Sous Chef
  • Ensure food items and kitchen utensils are prepared according to Delaware North standards of quality, consistency, and timelines
  • Maintain and enforce sanitation procedures and organization of the work area
  • Utilize and sanitize kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, whisks, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, and ovens
  • Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and food is stored correctly
  • Perform opening, closing, and side work duties as instructed and according to proper guidelines
  • Ensure workstation and equipment are clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked
