Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of stewarding experience in large multi-outlet casino, hotel, or resort
- Must be 18 years or older
- No felony, theft or stealing convictions
- Pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screen
- Pass background check
- Obtain and maintain gaming license
- Skilled in managing diverse, multi-lingual workforce
- Knowledge of culinary maintenance and equipment
- Knowledge of FDA health code
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices
- Knowledge of scheduling techniques
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers card
- Ability to obtain TIPS certification
- Maintain open communication with food and beverage management
- Ability to monitor quality control and safety
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure with professional demeanor
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work evenings, graveyards, holidays, weekends, and extended irregular shifts
Job Qualifications

- Knowledge of culinary facility maintenance and supplies
- Understanding of FDA health code
- Knowledge of sanitation best practices for hotels and restaurants
- Knowledge of scheduling to control labor costs
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers card
- Ability to obtain TIPS certification
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with professional demeanor
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office
Job Duties
- Ensure compliance with Tohono O'odham Gaming Enterprise policies and procedures including internal controls
- Direct stewarding functions to promote cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with health regulations
- Train stewards on safety and sanitation standards
- Communicate needs to supervisor to maintain par stocks
- Alert Steward Supervisor of serious issues
- Promote teamwork through coordination with other departments
- Assist with food dish-up and set up sheets as needed
- Attend training meetings
- Guide and support stewarding staff
- Provide on brand service behaviors for customer satisfaction
- Communicate with executive teams and managers
- Work to meet or exceed performance and budget goals
- Build trust and cooperation among team members
- Perform duties in absence of team members
- Ensure fair treatment and disciplinary procedures
- Maintain food handling and sanitation standards
- Administer performance appraisals
- Lead maintenance of kitchen equipment and cleanliness
- Demonstrate new techniques to staff
- Use enterprise computer systems for operations
- Collaborate with food and beverage managers and chefs
- Analyze and solve problems
- Demonstrate Desert Diamond Casino's attitude and spirit of service
- Model company standards and lead by example
