Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior kitchen or food service experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
  • Capacity to work in hot and humid kitchen conditions
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a kitchen or food service environment preferred but not always required
  • Knowledge of basic cooking techniques, food preparation methods, and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in food preparation and presentation
  • Ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to changing menus and recipes
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices
  • Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers

Job Duties

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients and mise en place for recipes according to established procedures and recipes
  • Cook and prepare dishes as per the recipes and instructions provided by the chef including grilling, frying, baking, sauteing, and other cooking techniques
  • Assist in plating dishes and ensure presentation meets quality standards
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen including workstations, equipment, utensils, and dishes
  • Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines
  • Assist in inventory management by monitoring and restocking ingredients and supplies
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Follow safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries
  • Occasionally interact with customers, take orders, and address inquiries professionally
