Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to perform basic math operations
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions
- certification to operate kitchen equipment
- physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally over 60 pounds
- ability to stand, walk, and perform manual tasks for extended periods
- good vision including depth perception and color vision

Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- assist in preparation of foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- plan and prep ahead for the next day's menus
- operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other kitchen equipment with certification
- maintain neat, clean, and organized work areas
- clean kitchen and cafeteria equipment and dishes
- manage inventory stock using FIFO procedures and maintain clean cooler/storage areas
- clean and monitor chemical usage in dishwashing areas and store clean dishes properly
- requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- prepare baked goods as required and present appealingly
- cook batches to maintain quality and presentation
- set up serving/bar lines and restock as needed
- serve with proper portion sizes and utensils, maintaining quality presentation and hospitality
- keep serving lines and condiments supplied with necessary items
- prepare foods in strict compliance with menu plans and recipes
- follow standardized recipes for consistency
- recognize reimbursable meals and follow meal patterns in accordance with regulations
- maintain daily production records
- follow HACCP processes and record food temperatures
- obey safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- participate in safety programs
- attend required meetings and training
- demonstrate and promote Opaa!'s core values
- handle customer monies, run cash registers or computers
- complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation
- submit work hours correctly
- notify DNS in advance of shift absences or emergencies
- perform other duties as assigned
