Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to execute detailed instructions
- Certification to operate kitchen equipment (slicers, mixers, grinders)
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, kneel, and perform other physical activities
- Availability to attend required training and meetings
- Commitment to safety rules and procedures

Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperature
- Assist in food preparation according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- Clean kitchen, cafeteria, equipment, and dishes
- Manage inventory and follow First In/First Out procedures
- Clean and maintain dishwashing area and equipment
- Requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods as needed and present attractively
- Perform batch cooking to maintain quality and presentation
- Set up and restock serving/bar lines
- Serve food items with proper portions and utensils while providing hospitality
- Keep serving lines supplied with food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
- Prepare foods in compliance with menu plans and recipes
- Follow standardized recipes consistently
- Recognize reimbursable meals and adhere to meal pattern regulations
- Maintain accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP food safety processes and log temperatures
- Adhere to safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in safety programs and meetings
- Handle customer monies and operate POS system
- Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation
- Accurately submit hours worked
- Notify DNS of shift coverage issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
