Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently
- capability to stand and perform physical activities for extended periods
- ability to understand and follow HACCP and food safety procedures
- ability to operate certified kitchen equipment safely
- willingness to attend required training and meetings
- dependability and commitment to punctuality
- compliance with company safety and timekeeping policies

Job Qualifications

- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective verbal communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and percent calculations
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- ability to operate various kitchen and office equipment including slicers, mixers, dishwashers, ovens, thermometers, POS systems, and computers
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperatures
- assist in food preparation according to menu plan and recipes
- operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- clean kitchen and cafeteria including equipment and dishes
- manage inventory stock using FIFO procedures
- clean and maintain dishwashing area and equipment
- requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- prepare baked goods as required and present attractively
- perform batch cooking for quality and presentation
- set up serving/bar lines and restock items
- serve food items with proper portion sizes and utensils
- keep serving lines stocked with food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
- prepare foods in compliance with menu and recipes
- follow standardized recipes for consistent quality
- recognize reimbursable meals and follow meal patterns according to regulations
- maintain accurate production records
- follow HACCP and safety procedures, maintain food safety logs
- report unsafe conditions
- participate in safety and training programs
- handle customer monies and operate POS system during service
- complete daily paperwork and meal reconciliation
- submit work hours via timekeeping system
- notify DNS in advance if unable to work shifts
- perform other assigned duties
- stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach as required
- lift up to 25 pounds frequently
- maintain specific vision abilities including sharp focus and color vision
