Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to communicate clearly in English
- ability to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions
- physical ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 pounds frequently and over 60 pounds occasionally
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely with certification
- availability to work flexible hours
- reliable attendance and punctuality
- compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- willingness to participate in training and continuous improvement
- ability to handle cash transactions and operate cash registers or computers
- ability to use kitchen and office equipment including dishwasher, mixer, oven, slicer, computer, and telephone
Job Qualifications

- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- common sense reasoning to follow instructions and solve standardized problems
- experience with kitchen equipment operation is beneficial but not required
- basic computer skills for meal counting software and POS systems
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperature
- assist in food preparation according to menu plans and recipes
- operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- maintain clean and organized work areas
- clean kitchen, cafeteria, equipment, and dishes
- keep inventory organized and practice First In/First Out procedures
- maintain and clean dishwashing equipment and areas
- requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- prepare baked goods as per menu
- batch cook for quality and presentation
- set up and maintain serving/bar lines and food temperature
- serve items with proper portions and hospitality
- keep serving lines stocked with food items and supplies
- prepare foods in compliance with menu and recipes
- follow standardized recipes for consistency
- recognize reimbursable meals and follow meal patterns per HHFKA and CACFP
- maintain accurate daily production records
- follow HACCP food safety procedures and maintain logs
- obey safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- participate in safety incentive programs and daily team briefings
- attend meetings and complete required training
- promote Opaa! core values
- comply with timekeeping policies
- handle customer monies and run POS as required
- complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation
- submit hours worked and notify supervisor of scheduling issues
- perform other assigned duties as needed
