Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and write simple instructions and correspondence
- Basic mathematical skills including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Certification to operate slicers, mixers, and grinders
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and exert over 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, kneel, and perform physical activities required by the job
- Willingness to adhere to food safety and safety protocols
- Ability to attend meetings and training sessions
- Ability to handle cash transactions and operate POS systems
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One month related experience, training or equivalent combination
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write simple correspondence
- Effective communication in one-on-one or small group settings
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to apply common sense and follow detailed instructions
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and meal counting software
- Commitment to food safety and compliance practices
- Ability to perform physical tasks required by the job
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- Assist in food preparation according to menu plans and recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work and storage areas
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria equipment and dishes
- Keep inventory organized and practice FIFO procedures
- Monitor and maintain dishwashing equipment and chemical usage
- Prepare baked goods and ensure appealing presentation
- Perform batch cooking to maintain food quality and presentation
- Set up serving lines and restock items as needed
- Serve food items with proper portions and utensils
- Keep serving lines supplied with necessary items
- Follow standardized recipes for consistent quality
- Recognize reimbursable meals and comply with meal patterns
- Maintain accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP and food safety procedures and logs
- Observe safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Attend required meetings and complete training
- Handle customer payments and operate point of sale systems
- Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations
- Report work hours and notify management of schedule issues
- Perform other assigned duties as required
