Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to understand and follow food safety and menu instructions
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, lifting up to 60 pounds
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- Basic math and communication skills
- Availability to work as needed
- Commitment to safety and company policies
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small groups
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to follow instructions
- Experience with kitchen equipment and meal counting software preferred
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperature
- Assist in food preparation according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- Plan and prep ahead for next day menus
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with certification
- Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
- Manage inventory stock using First In/First Out procedures and keep storage areas clean
- Maintain dishwashing area including chemical monitoring and equipment upkeep
- Requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods and present attractively
- Perform batch cooking for quality and presentation
- Set up serving/bar lines and restock as needed
- Serve food items with proper portion sizes and hospitality
- Keep serving lines and condiments stocked with necessary items
- Prepare food in compliance with menu plans and recipes
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistent product quality
- Recognize reimbursable meals and comply with HHFKA and CACFP meal patterns
- Maintain accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP food safety procedures and record temperatures
- Obey safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in safety programs and trainings
- Attend required meetings and complete yearly training hours
- Demonstrate and promote company core values
- Follow Opaa! timekeeping policies
- Handle customer monies and operate POS system
- Complete paperwork and meal reconciliation daily
- Submit work hours accurately
- Notify supervisors of schedule conflicts
- Perform other duties as assigned
