Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One month related experience, training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and write simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene procedures
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform physical tasks
- Valid certification to operate slicers, mixers, and grinders if required
- Availability to attend required meetings and complete training sessions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication in one-on-one and small group situations
- Ability to perform basic math operations
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to follow instructions
- Certification to operate kitchen equipment preferred
Job Duties
- Assist with set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at proper temperatures
- Assist in preparation of foods according to menu plans and recipes
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and kitchen
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
- Keep inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures
- Prepare baked goods as required by menu plans
- Batch cook to maintain product quality and presentation
- Set up and restock serving/bar lines
- Serve items with proper serving sizes and utensils
- Maintain supply of food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes at serving lines
- Prepare foods in compliance with menu plans and recipes
- Follow standardized recipes to ensure consistency
- Recognize reimbursable meals and follow HHFKA and CACFP regulations
- Maintain accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP food safety procedures and log temperatures
- Comply with safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in safety incentive programs
- Attend required meetings and complete yearly training
- Handle customer monies and operate cash register as needed
- Complete daily paperwork and meal counts
- Submit work hours timely
- Notify supervisor of shift coverage issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
