Job Requirements
- Must have at least 1 year of professional kitchen experience or start as a dishwasher/prep cook
- Must complete ServSafe training and certification if not already certified
- Must have knowledge of US measurements
- Must be able to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to stand and move frequently
- Must follow food safety procedures and kitchen protocols
Job Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional kitchen experience preferred
- Culinary training preferred
- Experience in dishwashing, prep, cooking, and expediting
- ServSafe certification preferred or must complete training prior to line work
- Proficiency in kitchen operations and execution
- Working knowledge of US measurements for weight and volume
- Ability to follow instructions for safe use of chemical cleaning materials
- Ability to work effectively with supervisors and coworkers
- Good communication skills
- Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to handle food products safely
- Ability to handle stressful situations positively
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus
Job Duties
- Prepare menu items accurately and promptly as ordered through point of sale system
- Only make items ordered through point of sale and always do the right thing
- Accommodate special requests with management approval to create a positive guest experience
- Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
- Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff to ensure timely, high-quality food service
- Remake items when instructed by a supervisor or manager
- Adhere to food handlers safety guidelines including temperature control and avoiding cross contamination
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work area
- Keep kitchen stocked with dry products and restock throughout shift
- Use FIFO system to keep food fresh and eliminate waste
- Accurately maintain waste logs
- Communicate inventory levels to supervisor and kitchen manager
- Maintain positive and professional attitude with coworkers and customers
- Work safely using protective equipment and proper lifting techniques
- Lock and secure food and equipment
- Follow opening, mid, and closing procedures
- Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned
