Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently
  • Physical ability to exert over 60 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions including exposure to heat, cold, and chemicals
  • Ability to handle POS systems and cash
  • Ability to attend training and meetings
  • Commitment to safety and compliance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group situations
  • Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow detailed instructions
  • Experience with kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and ovens is beneficial but not mandatory

Job Duties

  • Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperatures
  • Assist in preparing foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
  • Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other certified equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
  • Clean kitchen, cafeteria, and dishwashing areas including equipment and dishes
  • Keep inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures
  • Prepare baked goods such as bread, cakes, and cookies
  • Batch cook to maintain quality and food presentation
  • Set up serving/bar lines and restock items as needed
  • Serve food with proper portion sizes and utensils ensuring quality presentation and hospitality
  • Maintain food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes supplied on serving lines
  • Prepare foods in compliance with menu plans and federal meal patterns
  • Maintain accurate daily production and food safety records
  • Follow HACCP processes including temperature logs
  • Obey safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly
  • Participate in safety incentive programs
  • Attend meetings and complete required training hours
  • Handle POS system and customer monies at service time
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations
  • Submit hours worked accurately
  • Notify supervisors in advance of shift coverage issues
  • Perform other assigned duties as needed
