Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one-month related experience or training
- ability to stand, walk, lift, and carry up to 25 pounds frequently
- ability to occasionally lift over 60 pounds
- ability to follow safety and food handling procedures
- ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or humid conditions
- ability to maintain cleanliness and organization
- completion of food safety and sanitation training
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- ability to write simple correspondence
- effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group settings
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- experience with kitchen equipment operation preferred
Job Duties
- Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure proper food temperatures
- assist in the preparation of foods in accordance with menu plans and recipes
- operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- keep work areas clean, neat, and organized
- clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
- practice inventory management with FIFO procedures
- maintain and monitor dishwashing equipment and chemical usage
