Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms frequently
- ability to occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force and frequently lift or move objects up to 25 pounds
- ability to focus visually with depth perception and color vision
- willingness to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions
- ability to work around moving mechanical parts and exposure to wet, humid, hot, cold, or noisy environments
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- effective communication skills in one-on-one and small group situations
- basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to understand and follow detailed but uninvolved instructions
- experience with kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, steamer, mixer, oven, stove, slicer, and meal counting software
- commitment to food safety and compliance with HACCP and regulatory standards
Job Duties
- assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperature
- prepare foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
- clean kitchen and cafeteria equipment and dishes
- manage inventory stock and practice FIFO procedures
- monitor and maintain dishwashing area
- requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager
- prepare baked goods as required
- batch cook for quality and presentation
- set up and restock serving/bar lines ensuring proper food temperature
- serve food items with correct portions and utensils
- maintain serving lines with necessary food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
