Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- One month related experience, training, or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend basic instructions and correspondence
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Capacity to apply common sense to simple problem solving
- Certification or experience in operating kitchen equipment
- Ability to follow HACCP processes and food safety protocols
- Capability to lift and carry weights up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally exert over 60 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb, and perform physical tasks as required
- Willingness to work in varying conditions including exposure to heat, cold, noise, and chemicals
- Commitment to comply with company safety policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication skills in one-on-one and small groups
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
- Ability to interpret bar graphs and calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
- Common sense reasoning skills to follow written and oral instructions
- Experience with kitchen equipment operations preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance
- Familiarity with meal pattern regulations such as HHFKA and CACFP
- Basic computer skills including use of meal counting software and POS systems
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
Job Duties
- Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- Assist in preparation of foods according to menu plans and recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment such as slicers and mixers with proper certification
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and kitchen equipment
- Clean kitchen and cafeteria including dishes and equipment
- Practice inventory management using FIFO procedures
- Monitor and maintain dishwashing area and equipment
- Requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods and present them appealingly
- Batch cook to maintain quality and presentation
- Set up and restock serving lines and bars
- Serve food items with proper portions and utensils
- Maintain supply of condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes on serving lines
- Follow strict compliance with menu plans and recipes
- Convert and follow standardized recipes
- Recognize reimbursable meals and comply with HHFKA and CACFP regulations
- Keep accurate daily production records
- Follow HACCP and food safety logging procedures
- Obey safety rules and report unsafe conditions
- Participate in safety programs
- Attend meetings and complete required training

- Handle customer monies and operate cash registers/ POS
- Complete daily paperwork and meal reconciliations
- Submit accurate work hours
- Notify supervisor ahead of shift absences
- Perform other assigned duties
