Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one month of related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read, write, and communicate basic instructions
- Capability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 60 pounds occasionally
- Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures
- Certification to operate designated kitchen equipment
- Availability to work under loud noise and variable temperature conditions
- Ability to attend required meetings and training
- Compliance with company policies including timekeeping

Job Qualifications

- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication in one-on-one and small group settings
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed instructions
- Ability to operate dishwashers, slicers, mixers, ovens, fryers, and other kitchen equipment
- Certification for operation of specific kitchen equipment
- Familiarity with meal counting software and timekeeping systems
- Commitment to food safety and quality standards
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
Job Duties
- Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperatures
- Assist in the preparation of foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other certified equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas including kitchen and cafeteria
- Clean kitchen equipment, dishes, and monitoring chemical usage
- Keep inventory organized and adhere to First In/First Out procedures
- Prepare baked goods like bread, cakes, and cookies
- Batch cooking to maintain quality and presentation
- Set up and restock serving and bar lines
- Serve food items with proper portions and utensils
- Maintain serving lines with condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes as needed
- Follow HACCP processes and maintain food safety logs
- Keep accurate daily production records
- Use cash register or POS system and handle monies during service
- Complete daily paperwork including tray counts and meal reconciliation
- Notify supervisors in advance of shift coverage issues
- Participate in safety programs and attend required training sessions
- Maintain compliance with company timekeeping policies
