Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively communicate in small group and one-on-one settings
- basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- ability to operate kitchen equipment with proper certification as required
- ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force
- ability to comply with safety procedures and food safety standards
- ability to maintain accurate records and follow standardized recipes
- availability to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditions including heat, humidity, and exposure to chemicals

Job Duties
- assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure all food is held at required temperatures
- assist in the preparation of foods according to menu plans and standardized recipes
- operate kitchen equipment such as slicers, mixers, and grinders with proper certification
- maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, kitchen, and cafeteria
- monitor and manage inventory stock using first in/first out procedures
- clean and maintain dishwashing equipment and chemical usage
- handle customer monies and operate point-of-sale (POS) systems
- complete necessary paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliations daily
- follow food safety protocols including HACCP and temperature logging
- participate in safety programs and adhere to safety procedures
- prepare baked goods according to menu requirements
- set up and restock serving lines, ensuring quality presentation and hospitality
- communicate shift availability and notify supervisors of emergencies
- assist in batch cooking to maintain food quality and presentation
