Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination
  • ability to stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, balance, kneel, crawl, push, pull, grasp, feel, taste, smell, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms
  • ability to occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force
  • frequently lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 25 pounds
  • ability to pay concentrated attention and have color vision
  • ability to operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
  • ability to comply with food safety and HACCP procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • ability to read and write simple correspondence
  • effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
  • basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • ability to follow detailed written or oral instructions
  • experience with kitchen equipment and food preparation preferred but not required
  • familiarity with food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
  • ability to work as part of a team
  • commitment to continuous improvement and learning

Job Duties

  • Prepare breakfast and lunch offerings and assist with serving lines
  • participate in occasional catering functions
  • set up daily serving lines ensuring all food is held at required temperatures
  • assist in food preparation following menu plans and Opaa! recipes
  • operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
  • maintain clean, organized work areas including kitchen and cafeteria
  • clean and maintain dishwashing equipment
  • manage inventory stock using FIFO procedures
  • prepare baked goods as required
  • batch cook for quality and presentation
  • restock serving lines and condiments as needed
  • serve food with proper portions and presentation
  • handle customer monetary transactions
  • complete tray counts and meal reconciliation
  • submit accurate work hours
  • report unsafe conditions
  • attend meetings and training sessions
  • follow food safety protocols and HACCP procedures
  • promote company core values
  • comply with company timekeeping policies
