Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved instructions
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment with certification
- Must be physically able to perform duties including lifting over 60 pounds occasionally
- Must maintain adherence to food safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to comply with administrative tasks such as recordkeeping and cash handling
Job Qualifications

- Effective communication skills for one-on-one and small group interactions
- Basic mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages
- Ability to follow standardized recipes accurately
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and meal pattern requirements
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely with proper certification
Job Duties
- Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- Assist in the preparation of foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- Plan and prep ahead for upcoming menus
- Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other kitchen equipment with certification
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and kitchen equipment
- Clean dishes and kitchen areas including dishwashing and storage
- Manage inventory using First In/First Out procedures
- Remove clean dishes and store appropriately in serving areas
- Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods such as bread, cakes, and cookies according to menu
- Maintain batch cooking practices for quality and presentation
- Set up serving and bar lines and restock items as needed
- Serve food with proper portion sizes and utensils ensuring quality and hospitality
- Keep serving lines stocked with condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes
