Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Ability to follow safety and food handling procedures
  • Proficiency in using kitchen equipment and reading measurements
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to stand, lift up to 50 pounds with assistance, bend, and reach frequently
  • Flexible availability including holidays and weekends
  • Commitment to punctuality and time management
  • Completion or willingness to complete ServSafe certification
  • Adherence to company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • At least one year of professional kitchen experience
  • Culinary training preferred
  • Experience in dishwashing, prep cooking, and expediting
  • Ability to follow food safety and hygiene guidelines
  • Proficiency in kitchen operations and food preparation
  • Knowledge of U.S. measurements, weight, and volume
  • Good communication skills with management and team
  • Ability to work in high-volume, fast-paced environments
  • Ability to handle stressful situations positively
  • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to complete training
  • Capability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus but not required

Job Duties

  • Prepare menu items accurately and promptly when ordered through point of sale system
  • Ensure items are only made as ordered maintaining integrity
  • Accommodate special requests with management approval
  • Prepare dishes according to recipes to maintain quality and consistency
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with kitchen staff to ensure timely service
  • Remake items as instructed by supervisor or manager
  • Adhere to food safety guidelines including temperature control and avoiding cross-contamination
  • Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes and cleaning work areas
  • Stock kitchen areas with dry products and prep materials continuously
  • Use FIFO system to manage food freshness and reduce waste
  • Maintain accurate waste logs for discarded items
  • Keep supervisor and manager informed on inventory levels
  • Maintain positive and professional interactions with coworkers and customers
  • Work safely using appropriate protective equipment and procedures
  • Lock and secure food and equipment
  • Follow all opening, mid, and closing procedures
  • Attend and participate in trainings and meetings
  • Perform other duties as assigned
