Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Up to one-month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, climb, balance, push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally over 60 pounds
  • Capability to use kitchen equipment and tools safely with proper certification
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and follow safety procedures
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to perform physical and visual demands including color vision and depth perception
  • Willingness to work inside and outside with exposure to heat, cold, chemicals, and loud noise
  • Compliance with Opaa! Food Management timekeeping and safety policies
  • Ability to handle customer money and operate point-of-sale systems responsibly

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Effective communication skills for customer and team interactions
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions
  • Prior experience or training in food preparation and kitchen operations preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and compliance with HACCP
  • Ability to operate kitchen tools and machinery safely
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Job Duties

  • Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
  • Assist in the preparation of foods according to menu plans and Opaa! recipes
  • Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification including slicers, mixers, and grinders
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas and kitchen equipment
  • Clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including dishes
  • Manage inventory stock using First In/First Out (FIFO) procedures
  • Monitor chemical usage and maintain dishwashing equipment
  • Requisition food and supplies through the Kitchen Manager
  • Prepare baked goods as required
  • Perform batch cooking to maintain quality and presentation
  • Set up serving/bar lines and restock items as needed
  • Serve food items with proper portions and hospitality
  • Keep serving lines supplied with food items, napkins, utensils, and dishes
  • Handle customer monies and operate cash registers or POS systems
  • Complete paperwork, tray counts, and meal reconciliation daily
  • Submit work hours accurately and notify management of any absence
  • Participate in safety programs and attend required training sessions
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, HHFKA, CACFP, and company policies
