Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Up to one month related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and in small groups
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply commonsense to carry out detailed but routine instructions
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally exert over 60 pounds of force
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, squat, climb, kneel, and reach with hands and arms
- Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene practices
- Willingness to work under noisy, hot, humid, and occasionally cold conditions
Job Qualifications

- Ability to read and comprehend instructions and correspondences
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Effective communication skills for customer and team interactions
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and interpreting graphs
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve simple problems
- Experience with kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, steamer/kettle, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer
- Knowledge of meal counting software and basic office equipment
- Ability to maintain food safety and hygiene standards
Job Duties
- Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines
- Participate in occasional catering functions
- Set up serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- Assist in food preparation according to menu plans and recipes
- Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in kitchen and cafeteria areas
- Keep inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures
- Clean and maintain dishwashing area and equipment
- Requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- Prepare baked goods as required and present appealingly
- Batch cook to ensure quality and presentation
- Restock and keep serving lines supplied with food, condiments, napkins, silverware, and dishes
- Serve items with proper portions and hospitality
- Follow HACCP and safety procedures and maintain food safety logs
- Complete daily production records and comply with meal pattern regulations
- Handle customer transactions and operate POS system
- Complete paperwork and meal reconciliations
- Clock in/out and report inability to cover shifts
- Attend meetings and training sessions
- Adhere to Opaa!'s core values and safety protocols
- Perform other duties as assigned
