Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- up to one month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- ability to write simple correspondence
- ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs
- ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and properly
- ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, push, and pull as required
- physical ability to handle objects up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally exert up to 60 pounds of force

- familiarity with kitchen equipment such as dishwasher, steamer, mixer, oven, stove, fryers, slicer, thermometers, and gauges
- basic computer skills including meal counting software and office equipment
Job Duties
- Prepare breakfast and/or lunch offerings and assist with serving lines
- participate in occasional catering functions
- assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at required temperatures
- stock milk coolers and service areas
- prepare foods following menu plans and Opaa! recipes
- plan and prep ahead for next day menus
- operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other kitchen equipment with proper certification
- maintain clean, neat, and organized work areas
- clean kitchen and cafeteria areas including equipment and dishes
- keep inventory stock organized and practice FIFO procedures
- monitor and maintain dishwashing area equipment and chemical usage
- requisition food and supplies through Kitchen Manager
- prepare baked goods and present them appealingly to customers
- batch cook to maintain quality and presentation
- set up serving/bar lines and restock items as needed
- serve food with proper utensils and portion sizes ensuring quality presentation and hospitality
- keep serving lines stocked with food items, napkins, silverware, and dishes
- follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions
- comply with food safety logs and temperature records
- attend all required meetings and trainings
- handle customer monies and operate POS system
- complete necessary paperwork including tray counts and meal reconciliation
- submit accurate work hours and notify supervisors of any absences
- other assigned duties as necessary
